The next Australia/New Zealand Anglican Future Conference is planned for November 2026! We are returning to where the first Australian Anglican Future Conference was held in 2014 at the Melbourne City Conference Centre.

- Proclaims Christ faithfully and effectively in our local culture, seeing local churches multiplied and strengthened

Timetable
The conference begins with registration from 2:30pm on Monday 9 November, with the first session beginning at 4pm, and finishes at 1pm on Thursday 12 November. See below for the timetable overview.
Younger Leaders
Those aged under 35 will be invited to a special pre-conference lunch on Monday 9 November to connect with key Gafcon leaders. Food will be provided. There will also be other opportunities to network with younger leaders during the conference, plus a time to meet with Archbishop Laurent Mbanda, Chair of the Global Anglican Council.
Workshops
There will be two workshop sessions with multiple options to go deeper in topics such as proclaiming Christ to specific groups, raising up leaders, understanding our global Anglican context, church planting and more.
Networking
One of the great parts of this conference will be meeting and networking with other gospel-hearted Christian leaders. There will be regional gatherings, specific interest groups, prayer groups and more.
Accommodation
Those attending the conference will arrange their own travel. Some billets may be available and this option will also be in the registration process. Billeting is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. We have also partnered with Olive Tree Travel to produce some accomodation packages which are available to browse below.
Children
There is a parenting room available for parents/carers with babies. The conference does not otherwise cater for children.
Registration
- Due to cost of living pressures we have decided to keep tickets at the early bird price. We want as many people as possible to be able to join us.
- Registration for the full conference is $405.
- Special price for theological students, ministry apprentices, and other full-time students under 35 is $250.
- If you are in Melbourne working during the day or otherwise unavailable, join us in the evening! For just $30 you can attend any or all of the evening sessions.
- For those needing assistance to attend, we encourage you to talk to your local church or other Gafcon supporters in your region. A limited number of travel subsidies may be available where other options have been explored.

From Local to Global: Your Place in the Global Anglican Communion
Come and discover how you and your local church can take an active role in the life of the Global Anglican Communion. In this practical and encouraging workshop, we will briefly explore what God is doing across the Communion today before considering tangible ways individuals and congregations can participate in our shared mission. The session will include time for questions, conversation, and clear next steps for engaging faithfully in the global fellowship of Anglicans.
Archbishop Mbanda was born in 1954. While he was born in Rwanda, he spent a large part of his childhood in Burundi as a refugee. He graduated at the Kenya Highlands Bible College, in Kericho, Kenya, before returning to Burundi, where he was ordained an Anglican priest. He moved to the United States in 1984, where he completed an M.A. in Missiology at the Fuller Seminary’s School of World Missions, in Pasadena, USA, an M.A. in Christian Education at Denver Seminary, USA and a PhD at Trinity International University, in Deerfield, Illinois, USA. He was consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Shyiria in March 2010. He was then elected the fourth Archbishop and Primate of the Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda on 17 January 2018. His enthronement took place on 10 June 2018. He is a longtime supporter of GAFCON. He is the author of the book ‘Committed to Conflict: The Destruction of the Church in Rwanda’ (1997), co-written with Steve Wamberg, about the Rwandan Genocide. He has also written an autobiography ‘From Barefoot to Bishop’ (2017). Archbishop Laurent Mbanda assumed his position as Chairman on 21 April 2023.
The Revd Canon Jodie McNeill is Operations Manager for Gafcon – the Global Anglican Communion, working with its international leadership to support the growth and ministry of the Communion around the world. A presbyter in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, he has served as Rector of two Sydney Anglican churches, Executive Director of Youthworks Outdoors, founding Director of Year 13, and as a youth ministry lecturer and advisor. Jodie is married to Mandy, and they have four adult children and three grandsons; he enjoys music and bringing people together across cultures..

Ven. Dave Clancey is Director of Ministry Formation & Training in the Church of Confessing Anglicans Aotearoa New Zealand. Dave trained at the Cornhill Training Course (London) and Moore Theological College (Sydney), and was then ordained in the Diocese of Christchurch where he served in rural and urban contexts for 16 years. He is currently based at Bishopdale Theological College (Nelson) where he teaches Church History and Greek, oversees ordinands (and others) from CCA churches being trained for ministry, and is undertaking doctoral research into Bishop John Jewel. He doesn’t have any spare time.

David Short was born in East Africa and educated in Australia and Canada. He has degrees from the University of Wollongong, Moore College and Regent College in Vancouver. After serving parishes in Australia and Canada, he was Rector of St. John’s Vancouver from 1993 to 2025. During that time David was involved with the movement for biblical faithfulness in the Anglican church, affiliated with GAFCON. In 2008 he was appointed an Honourary Canon of St. Andrews Cathedral in Sydney, Australia. He is a founding director of the Artizo Institute – a Canadian initiative to identify and train young people who are gifted for ministry and a Trustee of the newly formed Packer Theological Seminary in Canada. He is a Senior Teaching Fellow of the Timothy Trust, and interdenominational initiative to equip expository Bible teachers for the revitalization of the Canadian church.
